Ellen Zweig

With a Master’s in Education from Harvard and decades of experience as a reading specialist, teacher, admissions officer, and administrator at top NYC independent schools — as well as a private tutor — Ellen has devoted her career to nurturing children’s love of books.

For more than 20 years, she’s been pairing children’s books with New York adventures — transforming reading into an experience that’s fun, meaningful, and full of magic. A lifelong New Yorker and mom of two, Ellen's guides are inspired by real-life family explorations, stories shared with loved ones, rich in joy, learning, and wonder.

Ellen Zweig holds a Master’s in Education from the Department of Reading and Language at Harvard University and a Bachelor of Arts from Barnard College. She has served as a reading specialist and Lower School administrator at The Brearley School and worked in admissions at both The Brearley School and the Ethical Culture Fieldston School. Today, she works one-on-one with children ages 4–9, helping them grow as confident, joyful readers with strong comprehension skills.
